Blue Jeans (RAC Mix) Lana Del Rey

“Blue Jeans” by Lana Del Rey (RAC Remix)

The kings of indie remixes have done it yet again. This time it is Lana Del Rey’s “Blue Jeans” off her much hyped debut album going under the knife. Maybe Lana should learn a thing or two from RAC about remixing songs instead of her face.

This is Ryo. And I like cacti.

Gila (Beach House cover) Bad Passion

“Gila” (Beach House cover) by Bad Passion

Record Store Day (dubbed the best consumerism holiday of the year) lured the bulk of America’s music nerds out of bed at 9am for collectible vinyl like Feist/Mastodon’s aptly named Feistodon. And among the hype surrounding Beach House’s Lazuli, this bad boy came to light.

Bad Passion keeps it simple and slow, giving the Beach House track just a sprinkle of dubstep and an extra pinch of romanticism. Definitely one of the best Beach House covers I’ve heard.

After listening to “Gila”, my Bad Passion curiosity was piqued. The duo make “super slow electronic R&B”, sort of like the type you’d imagine futuristic club-goers slow dancing to in a Bruce Willis movie set in the year 2900. Check out their Doin’ It Slow EP below to explore your Bad Passion options, or to download the featured track.

what style of music is talked about? like what bands?

Hello Anonymous!

Besides being tremendously gigantic National fans, we like all kinds of music that makes us sway. Like from side to side with our eyes closed. Or music that reminds us of Hall and Oates. We like “Private Eyes” very much. We also can’t tell the difference between house and trance, and so we don’t care much for either of the two. The best thing we saw this week was the Tupac hologram and we can only name one member of One Direction.

Here’s a song we are currently obsessed with. Porcelain Raft only came onto our radar recently when he started touring with Youth Lagoon, who made our favourite album of 2011.

Thanks for reading! Hope you’ve been entertained!
